Feeling lackluster? Losing muscle mass and gaining fat –not sure why? Wish your libido was a little higher? The Women’s Wellness Place is now offering a possible solution to your problems. Rejuvapel therapy is a tiny pellet of the hormone testosterone which is inserted under the skin. Testosterone pellets are based on the continuous release of testosterone, resulting in a slow and more physiologic absorption.
Testosterone plays an important role in both physical and mental health. Delivered by pellets, testosterone has been shown to protect your heart and brain and has been proven not to adversely affect the liver or increase blood clots. This type of delivery has been proven to relieve symptoms in most women and men within days –others may take longer to notice the benefits.
  • Patients come in for an office visit with the doctor.
  • After a small injection of local anesthesia 1-4 50mg testosterone pellets (depending on body weight and severity of signs and symptoms) are inserted into her lower back.
  • The level of testosterone will increase through weeks 7-9 and then begin to taper.
  • Most patients will want to have this repeated every 4 to 6 months
  • Baseline blood work will be drawn prior to the procedure to check hormone levels such as: FSH, LH, estradiol, testosterone, thyroid, DHEA, and lipids, and at intervals of treatment as needed to evaluate efficacy of the treatment plan.
